We all know that our emotions dictate everything that we do and don’t do. Everything that we buy and don’t buy. Then why do Salespeople and Marketers always lead with the product? Great question, right?

My name is Randy Crane, also known as The Fearless Marketer. I have been in the sales and marketing game for over 40 years.

I see this all the time. The sales person goes out to visit a potential customer and all they talk about is the company and the product.

  • Been in business for 20 years.
  • We have the best customers, the best product.
  • the best delivery, the best guarantee.
  • the best people, the best price…blah, blah, blah.

There is nothing emotionally connected to any of those things. They may be nice to know, but they are not going to inspire someone to buy from you. Humans don’t buy products; they buy stories, and they buy stories that allow us to feel.

It’s the emotions that drive our decisions. Nothing more!
