Have you ever taken some time to dream? I mean really, have you ever thought about what your life would be like if all your dreams came true?

Well, in this blog we are going to be talking about what you need to do to build a great dream and how you can get it.

I have spent the last 40 years studying and implementing the finer art of sales and marketing and as well, have taught these processes to hundred of others. My name is Randy Crane and I am the Fearless Marketer,

Well, to start with we need to look at what kind of results that you have gotten in the past and what results that you are currently getting. I would assume that if you are watching this video that you more then likely are not getting the results that you would like to have. That’s ok, because whatever you did yesterday doesn’t matter, its what we do today that will make the difference.

We are going to show you all 8 steps in this process and then we are going to deal with them individually.

  1. Make a Decision
  2. Build the Dream
  3. Feel the Dream
  4. Create a Timeline
  5. The Difference between Goals and Dreams
  6. Figure Out the Goals
  7. Create a Task List
  8. Monitor Your Time Line
  9. Summary

Making a Decision

You know Napoleon Hill in the book Think and Grow Rich dedicated an entire chapter to Making Decisions. You see, I believe that most people have a hard time making decisions. This is something that should be taught to us as children by our parents and in our schools, but it’s not. Most people make decisions very slow and change their minds quickly. According to Napoleon Hill. the most successful people in the world make decision very quickly and change them very slow if, and when they change them at all. I am actually going to do another video on the art of making decisions, but for the time being the first thing that we need to all do is be able to make a decision.

So, what do we decide about? Well, lets start with something that I hold very important in my life and I am sure that you hold important in yours as well. Your Dream! I think that we can all agree that having a dream is probably the most important thing in life. I remember Bob Proctor saying on many occasions that the average person tip toes through life making his way to death. I also remember thinking what a terrible way to live your life. Everyone needs to have a dream and the bigger the dream, the better. Now, I don’t to get to far ahead of ourselves here, we are talking about the art of making decisions. This can be a very scary thing to do, that is probably why most people don’t like making allot of them. Your brain will always talk you out of that which is not safe and making decisions when you are not used to making them is not a safe thing to do, according to your brain.

So how do we overcome this? Well, the first thing that we need to do is decide what is important. Your dream is important, so we need to decide what is a worthwhile dream. Remember, if your dream doesn’t scare the pants off you, then you’re not dreaming big enough. Make your dream huge and once you have it fixed in your mind, decide that you are going to get it. Once you make that decision, I mean really made that decision, then you have just taken the first step in achieving your result.

You know, once you start making decision about one thing, you will want to make decisions about other things. The more you do it, the more you will develop the habit of making decisions. Keep in mind that making decisions is always the first step in any result. Without the decision, you will go no where.

Building the Dream

So now that we have discussed making the decision, we need to talk about what you dream really is. As mentioned before your dream would be something that you would be prepared to sacrifice the rest of your life for. This is something that is so personal and so private. Its something that needs to really resonate inside your loins. Something that you can really get excited about. And something or things or lifestyle that you truly want.

Let’s take a moment and talk about what a dream is not! A dream is not about a nice house or a new car. Let me tell you, I have seen some beautiful homes and I have driven some really nice cars, but none of which I would be ready to sacrifice the rest of my life for. Maybe your thinking that Money! Money is just a tool. It is used to provide us with the lifestyle we want. The more money, the better lifestyle we have.

So maybe the key word here is Lifestyle. Yes, Lifestyle. Say it with me Lifestyle. And that word means something different to every person on the planet. What is your Dream Lifestyle? What does it look like? Use your imagination, make a list of everything that you could possibly imagine that would be included in that Dream Lifestyle. Include the following, but don’t limit yourself to these few questions, make your list as long as you can make it.

  • Where would you live
  • What does the home look like?
  • What do the grounds look like
  • What kind of car would you drive?
  • How many cars would you have?
  • What kind of clothes would you where?
  • Where would you travel to
  • What vacations would you go on and when?
  • What would you do when you get up in the morning?
  • What does your day look like?
  • What people do you want to associate with?
  • What are your passions?
  • What are the possessions that you would like to have?
  • What would like to learn?
  • How would like to impact others?

These are just a small list of the questions that you need to ask yourself. Take some time to think about this. This is not something that is going to be decided today. This is something that you may want to get the whole family involved with. This process is so important, remember this is something that is going to affect the rest of your life, so take this step seriously.

Once you have an idea of what your dream lifestyle looks like, now its time to do some research. Get on the internet and look for pictures, quotes etc. that resonate with you. These items need to reflect the perfect lifestyle that you want to own. When you see a house that you would want to own and it makes you feel great, cut it our or print off a copy. Remember, the images or quotes that you select must make you feel great inside. If they don’t then keep looking.

Andrew Carnegie told Napoléon Hill that Any idea that is held in the mind, that is emphasized, that is either feared or revered, will begin at once to cloth itself in the most convenient and appropriate form available. What this means is that as soon as you have decided to move toward your dream and you think about it constantly, then your mind will start bringing that image into fruition. You will notice little things starting to take place. It may be a book that you need to read or a video that you should watch. It could be a person that you met that is there to help you attain your dream. All things big and small will start to come into your life that will help make your dream a reality.

Now Its Time to Feel and Fuel Your Dream

At this point you should be feeling pretty fantastic. But we are not going to stop there, we need to keep going until your dream becomes the reality in your mind. According to many scholars in the field of personal development which include Anthony Robbins, Bob Proctor, Earl Nightingale, Napoleon Hill and so many others. They all agree and so do I that what you impact on your subconscious mind is what becomes the reality you live in.

If you look at your life as poor and jobless, well that is the reality that you get. If you change that to a life of wealth and prosperity, then that is what you will get as well. The mind does not know the difference between a bad lifestyle and a great one. It only responds to the information that you give it.

Now, I should mention that you can’t just think about the dream, you actually have to feel it. Feelings are the impressions or the stimuli that the mind uses to create. So, it is so important that you become very familiar with your Dream.  We do this by spending the time to create a Vision Board. A vision board is a tool that is used to keep the dream in the fore-front of your mind and drive the image deep into the subconscious. This is performed by spending time each day viewing the vision board and feeling the emotions that go along with each image and quote. I normally recommend 3-4 times per day for about 10 minutes each time. After days and weeks pass by two things are going to take place.

  1. This action will begin to become a habit and that habit will eventually become your state of being
  2. You will start to feel the images and the quotes which will also alter your state of being.

Its like playing the piano. No one sits down the first time and plays like Mozart. You must practice every day and as time goes along you get better and better. Well this is no different, it also requires practice.

You see, in order to change from being poor to being wealthy, you have to become wealthy. Let me ask you, can a wealthy man be poor? If he is wealthy, then he is wealthy, and he knows it and he feels it. He knows it and he feels it. It’s a fact that whatever you decide to be or do all starts with a thought. Whatever that thought becomes will determine reality. Therefore, you MUST become mentally that which you are in order to hold the reality of that which you think about. I believe that is was said by the Actor Steve Harvey “What you hold in your mind, you can hold in your hand.

So, the next action step is simple and fun. I suggest that you pick up a piece of Bristol Board or a piece of Coroplast, a Glue Stick and a pair of Scissors from the Dollar Store. Then take the images and quotes that you have cut out of magazines or printed off. Cut them into shapes that best describe your perfect Lifestyle Dream and place them on the surface. Make sure that you look at each image and quote and feel them before you place them down. Look at the image and ask yourself how does that make me feel? Does it make you feel great inside? Do you get butterflies in your stomach? Does it make you feel happy or excited? Remember, creating great feeling is the stimuli that we use to impress information on the subconscious mind. Feel these emotions and remember them because we are going to refer to these feelings and emotions later. Now, look at your vision board and make sure that all the images and quotes are in the right place. Look at it as one big picture and see how it makes you feel. Do you feel empowered? Do you feel Excited? Are you feeling happy? Or are you feeling confident? All of these emotions along with many others that are on the same line are great to have. Now glue them down and let it dry. I like to tell my students that in order to keep your vision board from fraying or deteriorating over time, give it a couple of coats of clear urethane spray.

Now it’s time for the great unveiling. Hang your vision board in a place where you can relax and enjoy it. Spend time with your vision board every day. As I mentioned before, spend about 10 minutes, 3-4 times a day looking at the board, the images, the quotes and feeling the emotions that resonate within you. If you can do it more then 3-4 times a day, then great, the more the better. Remember, this is your “End Game”. This is the purpose for your life. This is the reason that you get up and do what it is you do. Make your time in reflection count.

I have found another great practice is to create an internal dialogue living my dream lifestyle like it is in the now. Sometimes, I like to go for a long walk or sit quietly and just start talking to myself. I actually carry-on two-way conversations that reflect my future life. I create scenarios and act them out in my mind. Maybe part of your Dream Lifestyle is becoming a concert Pianist. Well, then, I would picture myself going through the stage entrance at Carnegie Hall. Then talking to the stage people and my managers. Looking out over the audience and feeling the feelings that go along with that event. How do you feel when they Welcome you to the stage? What does the applause feel like? Is there a silence in the auditorium when you begin to play and how does that feel? Do you get a standing ovation when the concert is over? Are you called back for a Curtain Call? How does that make you feel? Who do you speak with in the dressing room and what do you talk about? Is there a cast party afterwards? Where do you go and who is there? How does that make you feel? Don’t just think about it…Actually do it. And do it in the first person. Like it is happening to you in real time.

Get mental pictures of every aspect of the environment. If you have never been to Carnegie Hall before, study pictures on the internet. If you don’t know what a Steinway Grand Piano sounds like, then download the sound files or music being play on a Steinway. The more external stimuli that you impress on the subconscious mind brings you that much closer to your dream reality. Your senses act like a tuning fork for the mind. If you can see it, smell it, taste it, hear it and touch it, then the mind says that it must be real. Therefore, it is real. Once it is real on the inside, then it has no other choice then to become real on the outside.

It is a scientific fact that Like attracts Like and this has been proven all throughout history. Everything that was ever created originated with a thought from the first airplane to the first automobile. From the first computer to the first cell phone. They were all thoughts in the beginning. They were all someone’s Dreams.

Let’s Create the Time Line

Every creation has a timeline, no matter what it is there is always a length of time that is required for the thought to become reality. Some timelines can take a week while others can take years to mature into reality. So, let’s now look at the reasons why dreams don’t come into fruition immediately. Well, there are a few reasons why;

  1. Things that come quickly usually leave quickly
  2. The things in life that you don’t have to work for are not appreciated
  3. Dreams, like a great wine take time to mature
  4. It takes time for you to develop the vibration that matches the Dream

I am sure that there are so many more, but this will give you an example of some of the why’s. So, lets focus on the timeline. The timeline is the length of time that it takes from beginning to the end. It is completely linear, and it starts today, in the now moment. Where it ends is completely up to you. I want my Dream Lifestyle when I am 35 years old, then the timeline is from now till your 35th Birthday. I want my Dream Lifestyle when I retire at 65. The timeline starts today and ends when you are 65. You choose when you want it to end. If you are 25 years old and you want the timeline to end on your 35th Birthday, then the timeline is exactly ten years long. Only you know the time that it will take for you to acquire your Dream Lifestyle.

The timeline also shows your level of progression in actual time lapse and in milestones. If your timeline is 10 years long, then we need to divide it up into 10 segments showing each year that the timeline passes. We also need to create milestones which we will be discussing in the next section. For now, just understand that the timeline represents the length of time that it will take to achieve your Dream.

But wait, how would you like to reduce that time line by maybe 1 year or 2 years or maybe even 3 or 4 years. Well that can be done as well. You do this by resonating more and more with the vision board. Actually, making it a focal part of your life. Feeling the feelings, Emotionalizing the experiences. Acting like and being the person that deserves such a lavish Dream Lifestyle. When you do this over and over again, you are creating a stronger signal to the subconscious mind.  The sooner that the subconscious can agree that the environment on the outside is a match to the environment on the inside, then it’s like Napoleon Hill said in the book Think and Grow Rich, Any idea that is held in the mind, that is emphasized, that is either feared or revered, will begin at once to cloth itself in the most convenient and appropriate form available.

This means that as soon as you start believing that this is your reality, the sooner that reality will materialize. Now I am going to do another video on Believing later, but for now get this into you understanding.

So, let’s make this usable. Once again, go to the Dollar Store and purchase a piece of Bristol Board or a piece of Coroplast, buy a black tip marker and a ruler. Bring them all home and place the board on a table. With the ruler draw a line from one side to the other. Place a little vertical line at the beginning and call it NOW. At the end of the line, draw another vertical line and call it Dream. You also need to draw one more small vertical line in the center of the line to show the half way mark. That’s good for now. We are going to fill in the blanks in the next section.

So, let just do a quick recap. We have made the decision that this is a program that you would like to participate in. We have built a Dream Lifestyle and built a vision board that reflects the Dream We have learned ways that we can resonate with that Dream and we have created a timeline.

I know that for some this may seem to be very woo-woo and very unfamiliar to you. But lets just look at something. With all the information that you learned from your parents and from school and later from the government and your employers and friends; has any of that information brought you anywhere near possessing your Dream Lifestyle that you imagine for yourself and your family? I am pretty positive that in most cases the answer is No. It has been proven time and time again that what you think and what you feel create the reality you are in. As well, the actions that you take, if on purpose produces results that are aligned with the said Dream.

Now let’s take your timeline title it as Your Dream Lifestyle Timeline and lets put it up where you can see it anytime that you are working on your Dream.

What is the Difference between a Dream and a Goal?

Well, as mentioned before the Dream is the “End Game” it is your life’s purpose. It is what drives you to get up in the morning and work like the dickens through the day. It is the future you in construction. It is what gives your life the meaning that you so deserve.

Goals are the Results that you achieve along the way. The milestones that are on your timeline. Goals are the action items that need to take place for your dream to be fulfilled. I like to think of goals like cities on a map. If I wanted to go from Vancouver BC to Toronto Ontario in Canada. Well, my starting point would be Vancouver, right? From there my first stop may be in Kelowna BC and my second stop maybe Edmonton Alberta. I would continue to follow the map until I finally hit Toronto making those stops along the way. Consider each of those stops or cities a goal. My first goal maybe getting in my car and packing it for the journey. My second goal maybe to get gas and check my tire pressure. My next goal may be to drive to Kelowna BC. I do not have to consider driving to Edmonton, Alberta until I have reached Kelowna BC.

When you break you goals down into smaller chunks it creates a more organized and cohesive process for you to work with. This is really important because it becomes extremely easy to become overwhelmed in the early stages.

Goals are the achievements that you create on your timeline that will help you achieve your dream. Now this is going to take a little thought and maybe some time to figure it all out, but don’t worry, I will provide you with a blue print that will make it easy and fun.to do. Its going to important to figure out what those goals are and where to place them on the timeline.

Let’s get started. Think of a goal as something that you need or accomplish in order to bring you closer to your Dream Lifestyle. Let me give you a few ideas just to get you started.

  • I need to have a business
    • What kind of business?
    • Where is it located?
    • How many Employees will you have?
    • What will you sell or produce?
    • What do your expenses look like?
    • Do you require any licensing?
    • How will this make you feel?

  • I need a Car
    • What kind of car?
    • How much will it cost?
    • Where are you going to buy it?
    • What are you going to use it for?
    • How will this make you feel?

  • I want to take a Vacation
    • Where would you like to go?
    • How long will you be gone for?
    • What is the cost?
    • What will you do while on vacation?
    • How will this make you feel?

It is important to write down all your thoughts in paragraph form. Just write a short story about the goal that you want to achieve. Pay close attention that your detail and make it as real as possible. Add your why. Why do you want this or why do you need this? Why is this important in relation to your Dream? Also include the feeling and emotions attached to the goal. It does not have to be a novel, just a few paragraphs that best describe the goal and the importance in achieving it.

Now I want you to start thinking about what it is going to take in order to achieve that goal. These are called Tasks and tasks are the actions, thoughts and ideas that need to happen in order for the Goal to become a reality. We are going to talk more about tasks in the next section, but for now we want to start placing the goals on the timeline. Take your Timeline Board and place it on the table and a few inches below the first timeline we need to draw another time exactly the same as the one above. Now, we want to start cutting some rectangular pieces of paper and write the name of the goals on each piece. You can use the area above and below the timeline. It is not so much important that you have all your goals plastered everywhere on your timeline. Just start with a couple that you can use to get going. More ideas and more goals will show themselves to you has you move along the process.

You can place them where you think that they best fit with your plan. I need a business and I know that I will need at least 5 years to build it up so maybe I will place that close to the beginning of the timeline. I need a car, so maybe I will buy a car and place that 6 months after I open my business. Remember you are just placing them where you think they are best suited. Anything along the timeline can be changed. The only things that are not going to change are the beginning and the end of the timeline. Make note that you are going to make changes along the path. You are going to be adding new goals and changing others. This is a process and as with any process there are going to be modifications. I promise you that the more goals that you write down, the more that you will think of.

Keep in mind, goals are great things when achieved. I always keep a goal journal so that I can keep track of my goals and their progress. That way I can make any alterations or changes on the fly. So, I suggest that you head back to the Dollar Store one more time and pick up a lined journal.

Now, in your journal and on the first page we are going to title it with the first goal. This is also where you are going to make your first short story about your goal. Remember, be detailed and include the feelings and emotions that you will experience once it is achieved. Move over a few pages and put in your next entry and continue that until you have inputted all your goals so far.

Remember goals can be things, but I like to term them as results. When you think about them as results you look at them differently. What I am trying to say is that if you consider a car a goal, then the scope of the goal is limited to a very few prerequisites which include time, type, color, money etc. Where when you deal with a specific result well then you can make a more detailed list of tasks that can help you attain that result. The other reason for working with results is that you can categorize and benchmark them for quicker success,

That is not to say that having things like a car or a boat or a new house on your goals list isn’t important, but achieving specific results opens the door to attaining those things anyway. I think that it is more important to keep you eyes on the ball and stay focused on the Dream Lifestyle. Let’s face it, that is the reason that we are doing this exercise in the first place.

Creating Tasks for Quicker Success

Tasks are the fuel that help you complete your goals and completing your goals brings you that much closer to your Dream Lifestyle. When you look at a goal, I want you to think about all the little jobs, ideas, people, information, tools etc. that you will need to make this goal a reality. I also want you to be clear, by using your short statement how you will realize when the goal is achieved.

It’s very important to know when you have realized success of any goal. This gives you the opportunity to celebrate its victory. It also keeps you from adding on to the goal to make it more complex. We want these goals to be simple and short running. Remember, long term goals become boring and you will be more likely to give up on them.

Making a task list for each goal or Result is a very simple process and something that I think that you will enjoy doing. Be aware you will have to make changes along the way. That is why we separated the goals by 3-4 pages in your Goal Journal. Now let’s have a look at the very first goal. Below the Title on the page should be the short story about the goal and below that I want you to title it Task List. Below that start writing all the things that you would need in order to accomplish this goal. Think about every step, think about every tool, everything that you think that you will need. Be detailed. We need to make this list as concise as possible. Don’t leave anything out, even if you think that it is not important, if you thought about it, then it probably is.

When making you task list, I suggest that you number the tasks, this keeps you organized and also keeps you working in some level of succession. Next to each task you need to add an anticipated budget that you think it will cost you.  To complete that task. For instance, if you need a book and the book is $50.00, then put that amount next to the task.

Now you don’t want to allow your goals to go into too much overtime so it is necessary to add the date that you expect that this goal will be achieved. This will keep you on point and achieve your goals in a timely fashion. It is IMPORTANT to keep in mind that this only one goals of many to come. Stay to your Completion date as close as possible.

You will also need to add up all the Budget amounts and total them as well. This will allow you to anticipate the total cost needed in order to reach completion. Below I have provided a sample Goal and Task List directly out of my personal Goal Journal. Feel free to replicate this design for your own journal. Once your goal is complete you can now add your Signature to this page. By adding your signature, you are acknowledging the fact this Goal is now complete.

Monitoring Your Timeline

When monitoring your timeline, you need to realize that not everything goes according to the initial plan. You will be expected to add and remove items from your task list and sometimes even your goals will have to be altered. As long as you are updating as you go along that is considered perfectly normal. For instance, your goal may require its task list to be changed by adding another step and that step requires another couple of days. Make sure that you add the new task to the Task List and add the extra 2 days to the Date Goal Achieved. If you have to change your Budget, then just follow the same process. Add the amount to the new task and put in a new total at the bottom

            Date Goal Achieved : Apr 31st, 2019
                                                  May 2nd, ;2019 re: Task # 16

Anticipated Budget: $480.00
                                                $550.00 re: Task # 16

At this point you want to adjust your goal on the timeline as well. Make sure that you do not overlap your goals. Also Keep in mind that once a goal is completed you can remove it from the timeline or mark it completed. Personally, I like to leave them on the Timeline, and I mark it complete with a RED Marker.

It’s a fact that when you look at the timeline every day and see the progression, you begin to want to more action. The more action that you take the closer you get to the end of the timeline. Ultimately, reaching your Dream Lifestyle faster.

Make sure that your Timeline, your Vision Board and you Goal Journal are all in sync. This may seem like work, but once you start getting momentum this becomes a fun process.

Summary

I hear all the time that the reason for failure is that people don’t have goals. As a matter of fact, the reason for failure is not that people don’t have goals, but rather they don’t have a dream a dream that defines who they are or their purpose. Your Dream Lifestyle should be larger then life. It should be so big that it scares the hell out of you. That’s right include everything that you could possibly imagine having or being or visiting…Include it all.

I hear from people all the time saying that they don’t have goals because they do not want to be disappointed. Or they already have everything they could possibly want. These people spend their lives living day by day tiptoeing through life to make it safely to death. I heard these words from Bob Proctor in one of his seminars.

You have all the attributes needed to accomplish anything in your life. I know this because everyone has the same attributes. You are no different then Anthony Robbins or Martin Luther King Jr. or Donald Trump. All these people are great goal setters and follow the same or similar process then what I have described in this short course, you have the ability to do exactly what the great Authors, Public Speakers, Marketers, Master Minds, Sales People, Presidents and Industry Leaders all have done. The only thing that will hold you back is you and if you are being held back, then you dream isn’t big enough.
