Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work from home? Possibly, you already are and haven’t figured out the big payday yet. Well in this editorial we’re going to cover exactly that and so much more. Stay tuned.

My name is Randy Crane, also known as The Fearless Marketer. I’ve been working from home since 1992. That’s over 30 years, wow

I had gotten terminated from my job after 5 years. and I remember answering an ad in the newspaper for a job doing marketing from home. This started my journey. I was thinking to myself, what if I could work from home? I figured the convenience alone would be well worth it. So that is how it all started for me.

So, what is the big deal of working from home? Stay tuned because we are going to go through 8 BIG Benefits starting right Now!

I am sure that you think that money should be the number 1. Well, it is, but I am saving the best for last. So, make sure that you read right through to the end.

Number 1 – Convenience

It is so convenient to work from my home office. Before I would have to wake up at 6 am take a shower, shave, put on my suit, drink a cup of coffee, and head out the door. Now, I wake up at 7 am or when I want to slip on some clothes and relax and drink my morning coffee with my family. Love it.

Number 2 – Time

I no longer have to spend time in my car traveling to work. This was time that I was not getting paid for. Whether you drive your own car or take the bus it doesn’t matter it is still time lost that you are not getting paid for. I love the fact that my time is now my own in the morning and immediately after work. No more gridlock for me.

Number 3 – Who’s watching you work.

I think that this is the most important. No one is there looking over your shoulder watching you work. No Boss, No Manager, No Stress. Now that doesn’t mean that you can just waste your day and not get anything done. It means that the pressure is off, and you can work at your own pace with no distractions. The beautiful part of working from home is the No Stress environment that I have grown to love.

Number 4 – No Traffic

I hated sitting in traffic waiting for everyone ahead of me to move 6 inches and then another 6 inches. I used to do this too and from work every day. This is time and aggravation that I am not getting paid for. That is 10 hours per week, 40 hours a month and 480 hours a year that I am never getting back. That’s like 2 working months of my life sitting in traffic. Let’s not forget the increased insurance costs, wear and tear on your car and the gas & maintenance. Glad that I don’t do that anymore.

Number 5 – Home with the Family

I can now spend time in the morning sitting down at the breakfast table and enjoying the company of my family. I was able to walk my son to the school bus in the morning and sometimes I even drove him to school. I was always around for his after-school activities and concerts. I even had time to help him with his homework. I get to spend time with my wife. Let’s face it, I didn’t marry her so that I could spend 10 – 11 waking hours a day away from her. I enjoy being around her. I think that this one is my favorite.

Number 6 – Less Distractions

Now, this can be a difficult one because you have to rely on everyone in the household to cooperate. That can be hard at times. It requires sitting down with your family and explaining to them that even though you are not going to work every day out of the house… You will be working from home and must have no distractions. In my home, if my office door is closed, everyone knows that I am working and cannot be disturbed. Although, my wife does send me texts and TikToks now and again.

Number 7 – Freedom

I love the fact that I have the freedom to do what I want: when I want and how I want. I know that some days are more demanding than others, but that adds spice to my week. Just the fact that I can break away when I want to and go for a walk or enjoy a summer day makes life so much better. Sometimes my wife and I break away to go for a drive in the country for an hour. The freedom is great.

Now for Big Number 8 – The Pay Raise

You may not know this but by you working from home, your Boss is giving you a sizable pay raise. That’s right, once you hear this you are never going to want to step foot in the office again.

So, lets have a look and see if this makes sense to you as well.

Gas $10.00 per day $200.00 per mth Parking $100.00 per mth Insurance $50.00 per mth Lunches $10.00 per day $200.00 per mth Coffees $5.00 per day $100.00 per mth Clothes $150.00 per mth Time spent Travelling $40.00 per day $800.00 per mth

The total is $1,600.00 per month. That’s $19,000.00 per year. In some cases, it can be even more and in other cases may be less. It doesn’t matter either way you are getting a pay raise and your Boss doesn’t even know that he or she has given it to you. Imagine what an extra 19K could do for you. A vacation for you and your family, down payment on a new home, buy a new car. It’s definitely 19k you didn’t have before.

So that’s it. Working from home can be a big change and a huge adjustment — no one is going to tell you that it isn’t. But the benefits of working in your own space make you feel like you have your life back again. It gives you the feeling of control and confidence. We all need that.
